Portland City Grill (for Happy Hour)

The best view in the city. Go early (like, 4:15) for their happy hour to get a seat so you don’t have to wait and circle like vultures around a table (there’s no waiting list).

Horse Brass

Portland’s quintessential British Pub, the Horse Brass often fills our heads with dreams of fish N’ chips. They have an insane, constantly-rotating selection of beers.

Food Carts

We’ve listed some of our food carts below and included a handy map.
For more food carts, check out Food Carts Portland.

Most carts are closed on Monday nights except for downtown.

If you are downtown there are tons of cart pods everywhere, especially at

Potato Champion – Late night french fries and poutine (french fries covered with gravy and cheese curds. DO NOT MISS)

H.U.B. (Hopworks Urban Brewery)

The Nines Hotel

Apparently this place has the second best view compared to Portland City Grill. The Nines contains two new-ish acclaimed restaurants: Departure (asian-fusion) and Urban Farmer. We have not been here yet. Also, we’ve been warned that you’d do well to stay away on the weekend, as the place gets absurdly crowded.

The Nines

Another highly recommended hotel; apparently has a great happy hour spot, Departure(?).

They say: “Ideally situated next to Portland’s Pioneer Square and the MAX light Rail, The Nines rests atop the landmark Meier & Frank Building and is a contemporary homage to the structure’s storied past both in its striking decor and impeccable service. A magnificent contemporary art collection by local artists graces each of the 331 luxurious guestrooms, including 13 suites. Plush bedding, 42″ HD Television”

Rooms average $222.
